Why Choose UV Coating?

UV coating adds a high-gloss, professional finish to your custom business brochures, enhancing their appearance while providing added durability. This premium coating protects your trifold or bifold brochures, ensuring they maintain their quality over time and look polished and professional.

Key Benefits of UV Coating:

  • Provides a glossy, eye-catching finish
  • Enhances durability for long-term use
  • Ideal for creating a premium, professional look

Important Note: You cannot print or write on UV-coated products.

What is UV Coating?

UV coating is a clear liquid applied to paper, either as a spot covering to highlight specific areas or as an overall (flood) coating. It is instantly cured using ultraviolet light, creating a finish that offers superior protection and shine compared to varnish or aqueous coatings. Unlike heat-cured finishes, UV coating releases no solvents into the atmosphere, making it an eco-conscious choice. However, it can be more challenging to recycle compared to other coatings.

What About Aqueous Coating?

Aqueous coating is a shiny, smooth finish applied in-line during printing as a flood coating. It creates a high-gloss surface that resists dirt and fingerprints.

Key Differences Between UV and Aqueous Coatings:

  • UV coating is applied as a separate finishing step, either as a flood or spot coating, and offers more sheen and protection.
  • Aqueous coating is integrated during the printing process and provides a lighter gloss.

Keep in Mind:

UV coating, being thicker, may crack when scored or folded. Consider this when planning your brochure design.

Both UV and aqueous coatings add a touch of professionalism to your brochures, helping your business stand out with a polished finish. Contact us today to learn more!
